Zimbabwe - Cry My Beloved Country

We, Zimbabweans in the Diaspora tend to view our own piece of the motherland through the lens of an impartial tourist. Just when I was titling this blog, I initially unrightfully named it "Zimbabwe - Cry The Beloved Country", but that title lacked a huge factor that relays my innermost feelings and sentiments on my own country. There was no sense of entitlement to it. With thus said, it evolved to what it is. Zimbabwe is my heart, my House of Stone, my Great Zimbabwe, my everything that made me the man that I am today. It is such an eye-soar to see what the media has to say about the meltdown of the once great Southern African bread basket. It has not only been an economic avalanche on our, my, southern nation, but far more to it with every socio-political and judiciary column breaking down in the very eyes of the international community. There are over 3 million Zimbabweans that currently live outside Zimbabwe and are empowering already rich nations. Going back home the way it is now is either a bad option or no option at all to many of us. It is such a painful dilemma to live with, no man should ever have to face this. With it comes an unpatriotic cloud that hovers over me everyday and shrouds me into this introvert mentality that mutts my burning desire to speak out about my beloved country. I can’t see them running down my eyes, but my heart is sinking in my tears and I can only make this blog cry.
